The Reichmann Co. is a registered South African software studio. We keep the work close to the people doing it, which is why nothing gets lost between the quote and the code.
We design the thing, we build the thing, and you talk to the people doing it. No sales layer, no account managers, no game of telephone.
We believe software should feel as good as it works. A save that takes 40 milliseconds instead of 400 is not polish. It is whether people actually use the thing. Those details are the work, not something added at the end.
If something is a bad idea, we will say so. If a deadline is unrealistic, we will tell you before you commit, not three months in.
We built the foundation before we built anything on it.
Most studios start taking work and build their standards later, out of whatever the last emergency taught them. We did it the other way round, and we want to be straight about why, because it explains most of what is on this site.
We built Dachshund first, the platform every product we make will run on. Six numbered phases, none of which closed until every check was green and we had sat down and driven the thing ourselves, in front of nobody, with no customer waiting.
We did it that way because we wanted to know what we were capable of when there was no deadline to hide behind, and because for a studio nobody has heard of, that answer is the only thing there is to sell. It taught us things a client project would not have, since a client project stops the moment it works and this one kept going until we could prove why it worked.
