02 — What is built

One platform, the whole back office.

Lumarix is already a working ERP and accounting engine. Here is what runs in the beta today, described honestly.

Accounting and ledgers

Double-entry general ledger, a proper chart of accounts, cost centres, and the financial statements that fall out of them: income statement, balance sheet, and comparatives. The engine that everything else posts into.

Invoicing and sales

Quotes, sales orders, invoices, and credit notes, with customer statements and credit control. Recurring and emailed documents included.

Inventory

Stock items, goods received, purchase orders, and bills, with editable landed cost and purchase price variance handled the way an accountant expects.

Payroll

Run employees, earnings, and deductions through to payslips, with the figures posting straight into the ledger. No double capture.

Multi-currency

Trade in more than the rand. Foreign-currency customers, suppliers, and documents with exchange differences accounted for cleanly.

VAT and reporting

VAT tracked on every transaction with reports you can reconcile against. Built so your numbers are SARS-ready, with e-filing on the roadmap below.

A browser tab is the wrong place for your accounts.

Local-first speed

Lumarix runs at the speed of your machine, not your connection. Big ledgers open instantly and reports do not spin. No loading tab, no round trip to a server.

Works when the line drops

Load-shedding, a flaky tower, a dead router. None of it stops you invoicing or capturing. Lumarix keeps working offline because it lives on your desk, not in the cloud.

Your data stays yours

Everything lives in a single .lmx file you own. Back it up, move it, hand it over. There is no account to lock, no export fee, and nobody else holding the keys.

POPIA-friendly

Because your financial and personal data never leaves your control, you are not trusting a third party with it. That makes Lumarix a calmer fit for POPIA out of the box.

04 — On the roadmap

Honest about what is next.

These are not in the beta yet. They are what we are building toward, in roughly this order. We will only mark them done when they really are.

    SARS e-filing

    Submit VAT and returns straight from Lumarix, once the integration is approved and tested. The reporting is already built to support it.

  • R2

    Live bank feeds

    Pull transactions automatically and reconcile in a click, instead of importing statements by hand.

  • R3

    AI assistance via Veritas

    Our accounting research product, Veritas, will bring practical AI help into Lumarix. Veritas is in research today, not shipping.

  • R4

    Mobile companion

    A lightweight phone app to capture, approve, and check the numbers while you are away from the desk.

  • R5

    macOS

    A native Mac build, once the Windows release has settled. Lumarix is Windows-only for now.
